Melt in your Mouth Crock Pot Ribs

I live in an apartment that does not allow us to use a grill, and in the summer its totally a staple to make ribs, at least in my opinion. So a quick and clean prep and 6 hours later you have fall off the bone, melt in your mouth ribs! Someone was looking after us apartment dwellers ha ha.

What you will need:

Package of Country Style Ribs (pork) or you can use beef ribs too. You also can use boneless or bone in packs of ribs.
BBQ sauce of your Choice ( I love me some honey BBQ)
1 Whole Onion
Garlic Cloves
Liquid Smoke
Salt and Pepper

Set your crockpot on low.
Slice your Onions and Garlic Cloves and place at the bottom of the pot.

Place your ribs on top of the Onions and Garlic. Add a few drops of Liquid Smoke ( I used Hickory).

Pour your BBQ sauce over ribs so it covers them. Sprinkle some Salt and Pepper on top. Pop on that lid and let cook on low for 6 hours.

See simple, quick, and clean and your house is going to smell like a BBQ Roadhouse ;)

Enjoy!

  7. What if I want to cook them while I am at work for 9 hours? Would they be too overcooked?

  9. I'm not OP, but I would probably freeze the ribs several hours or overnight, then continue with the recipe. Did it many times when I worked longer hours. Worked fine for me, and they weren't overdone.

  13. Can you put the slow cooker on high and cook for 3-4 hours instead?

    1. The slow cooking in the crockpot is a huge part of what makes them tender. If you cook them faster then they will be tougher.

    2. Yes , I've done it at 3 hours on high because of the time I started the crockpot.

  16. First, I want to say that this is what's for dinner tonight! Looks super yummy!!! Second, as I was searching for new crockpot recipes, I came across this page with your recipe, I would say it's the same exact one except she's changed the bbq sauce. She also have the same exact photos except for the one with all of your raw ingredients and the one with the crockpot with the lid on. Curious....

  20. Do you think that you could condense the recipes you put on here so they are easier to print out and don't take sooo much paper?

    1. Hi What I do is Copy & paste the recipe. You will have a "Notebook" on your computer. I just transfer it to there then Print it. You will have Name it then save. You can then print it out using less paper.hope this helps.
